The Netherlands will take part in the Initial Operational Test and Evaluation phase (IOT & E) of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program.
The Ducth left-wing Labour Party (PvdA) who at first opposed the JSF program, has now decided to support it and move on with the F-35.

Edwards Airman first to fly F-35

An Edwards pilot became the first Air Force and government test pilot to fly the F-35 Lightning II during a test sortie at the Lockheed Martin facility on January 30.
Homestead ARB was recently named as one of 16 Air Force Reserve Command sites appearing on the Air Force's "roadmap" for basing weapons systems in the future.
The Montgomery Advertiser reported on Wednesday, the Air Force had released a list of locations that may become the home of the F-35. In this instance Montgomery was on that list

F-35B powered up for the first time

Electrical power was applied for the first time to the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II on Thursday night, thus initiating a series of ground tests that will lead to the inaugural flight of the short-takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) stealth fighter next spring in 2008.
When the first F-35 rolls out in 2008, communications between pilot and aircraft will enter a new era thanks in part to testing and analysis conducted at the Air Force Research Laboratory's Human Effectiveness Directorate.
