| So where are all of these Hawgs coming from. Ft. Smith got theirs last year, in a BRAC move, but now Indiana is getting them, and there has also been rumors of Des Moines trading in their Vipers for Hawgs. Are the active duty getting rid of the HAWG mission? |

Hi Matt,
I believe it was either Des Moines or Ft. Wayne getting the A/OA-10s - it seems that the 124th FS in Des moines will keep their Vipers!! Some A/OA-10s will be "resurrected" from AMARG and the PA ANG in Willow Grove is also about to loose their Hawgs due to BRAC.
Greetings,
Henrik. |

Hi,
Former 170th FS F-16C 87-0275 has been transferred to the 176th FS WiANG, noted there unmarked late-September 2008 by some British spotters.
HTH,
Joris |

I have been to Ft. Wayne. They should be glad they even have a base there. The Indiana Army National Guard should benefit from this - in terms of training that is. |

| Now that the 183FW 170FS has lost all its Vipers - does anyone know where 86-0263 and the others ended up? |

What are you trying to say about Ft. Wayne? |

Why should we even be glad to have a base in FWA? We have one of the most up to date airports in the country that's not used to it's potential because of it's location (being so near to Indy, Chicago, Cinci, Detroit, Cleveland). A 12,000 ft runway (one of the longest east of the Mississippi) intersecting a 10,000 ft runway, we can accomodate anything that flies, including the space shuttle (we're an emergency location for shuttle landings).
The Army NG is moving in with us, we're becoming a "Super Base". |

Racers we have stories about TH as well... just like we all have stories from every base we have been to or work at/with. However, to go out a state that a base should glad to even be operating is out of line unless you can cite some facts or at least provide some justification for that reasoning. Furthermore, I'm not even sure where MWIndy fits in. Some of his other posts would lead you to believe that he isn't in the USAF at all.
Sorry for getting on my soapbox there I know that isn't what this thread is about.
Rant complete. |

| I've worked up there a couple times and did'nt think it was too bad. However, I've seen those vipers wait 10+ minutes on civ traffic. |

Hehe, only during the peak hour (singular). Only a couple three times a day do we even get any civ traffic to speak of (commercial) in bulk. |
