I worked at Volkel AB from 1994 till 2004.
First 6 years in Supply 901 sqn at Volkel
Did all kinds of different things in supply from medical, toolcrib in engineshop, airfreight ,WZZ (MWR), etc.

I did 2 tours of 6 months in Italy (Villafranca AB) for the Balkan war. My first 6 where from Oct-95 till april of 1996 first 3 months under the UN flag and the last 3 under IFOR. I did supply and air freight, the 2nd 6 months where from april 1997- oct 1997 there I did the WZZ (MWR).

After 6 years I wanted to do something else and wanted to work jets so crosstrained in to F-16 maintenance / Asst.crewchief

Current or Favourite assignment

It's the BONZO unit.
I had a lot of friends in this unit so if the HR guy ask me what unit do you want and I could choose out of 4 so it's kindda easy for me to say I had my dream unit/ assignment.

Deployments

The ones in Italy where during my time in supply.

During my time as F-16 maint. I did a lot of deployments.

I went to CFB Goosebay Canada for low flying. normally they where 2 weeks long I can't even remember how many times I went to this remote place on earth.

Maple Flag 2000 CFB Cold lake. 2 weeks

Various Fighter weapons instructor training courses FWIT at Leeuwarden AB in the north of Holland and NAS Orland Norway.

Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP), Florennes AB,Belguim

Since I was in the Public relations I went to some airshows with my unit.

312 sqn had the F-16 solo display team from 2000 to 2002
So there for I assisted them a few times in the UK,Netherlands, Belguim, Finland

My last deployment was the best I think and it's very rare that a Corporal first class goes to this. it's RED FLAG, Nellis AFB ,Nevada.
I participated red flag in feb 2004 and was really a great experiance, The pressure to get the planes ready is very high.

We the RNLAF had the oldest F-16's on the tarmac but we had a high servicability.
